collection: artifact (2012)

this series of images was captured in and around the township of alvie, south western victoria, on the east side of lake corangamite.

although the artist’s practice was not concerned with specific histories or politics, the artist does seek to contrast the landscape of prehistoric volcanic craters, with the post colonial agricultural re-modelling, and the mementos of today’s culture.

this collection of images stands as a pre-dawn survey of glimpses of a landscape, quiet in reflection of what was, blind to what will be.
